Jayne We went with Crystal this year and stayed at the Montane - great location, but the food wasn't too good. We booked our skis & boots with Arinsal.co.uk which was 30% cheaper than usual, and picked them up at St Moritz which was really easy and good equipment too - also got our lift passes with Arinsal.co.uk.

I'd also say definately get to the Darby Irish Bar - brilliant atmosphere, and the ski instructors there were fab!!

See you next year
Ian Hi. We have just put some info on the homepage of this site about DIY booking for next year. I hope it's useful. Snowrental is a good option - they use Esports Rossell which IMO is the best of the bigger ski shops in Arinsal. There are also a couple of smaller shops - Servei de Neu and 5150 - which are pretty good but no online booking yet.

Hopefully see you here next year

Ian
osulljp Second vote for snowrental.com. I learned to ski in Arinsal and have been there 4 times, 2 on a DIY. On the second DIY I used snowrental. Got great gear (Rossignol Zeniths) from Esports Rossel.

Have use snow rental again this year in Austria and again, great prices and great quality gear.

If doing a DIY to Arisal, make sure you register for a vallnord card and get 10% of most of the services. If you have a car, try to get over to Arcalis. Its worth the trip.

Johnmac There are lots of links on this site that should help you. Consider one of the 4 airports mentioned in one of number one's reports. I think that ski hire and lift passes are not cheaper in the resort but lots of sites offer discounts. The Hotel Palarine, where I am staying, are offering guests 30% discount of ski hire. Keep looking and I am sure you will be able to have a holiday cheaper than the travel companies. They have just got too greedy. Good luck.
Pigpen We are travelling out to Arinsal on the 9th of April for 6 days over Easter and I can't wait - Haven't been back in a while

We booked our skis thru snowrental (Type esports rossell into google and follow links)- 5 days top notch skis - 61 euros

We also booked our BA flights, hotel Xalet Verdu (half board) and ski passes (full 6 days) with Expedia to Barcelona - Total for about £480 each - I think that is a bargain

Picking up a hire car at Barcelona Airport

Hope this helps
