Hi,

Sorry I think the answer is NO. He can apply for the form for you but YOU must take two items as proof of identity with the completed form to your local police station. Passport and driving licence is best. Be warned it can take up to 40 days for you to get the form back. Mine arrived in 10 days this year. Do not forget to get it stamped by the F.C.O. Where will you be working? Good luck

Thankyou Number One - I'll just add that my police authority (GMP) does allow postal applications.

You have to send your forms of ID with your application - and that might be a bit awkward if you were thinking of using your passport, which you need with you whilst you are abroad! There are alternatives - birth certificate for example.

I suggest you find the website for your own police authority and see what they will accept.

Kev.

I applied from France this year (to Cheshire Police) and the report came through okay. I used birth certificate, bank statement and a certified copy of my passport for the ID. Don't forget you need to take or send the report to Milton Keynes as well for the Legalisation stamp.

As Kev says the best thing to do is check with your Police at home - either via their website or phone them up.

Hope this helps,

Ian
