Been there 4 times. Once with Directski. Rep will probably give you your ski hire stuff on the coach (just insist on it if you have to!) but they do tend to hold the lift pass/ski school vouchers to get you to the welcome meeting to try to sell you stuff!.
As Ian said, chances are you will be using St Moritz in the village, but if your place is at the top of the gondola, no worries. Just tell the lift attendants and they will, in my experience, let you go up to sort out your stuff.
The Daina is fine, as far as I know. It is not that close to the lift or the village centre. Its probably 800 metres uphill. So when you go to collect your skis you will need to use the ski bus, certainly to return (The St Moritz shop is 100 metres below the gondola station in the village, from where you can catch the bus) .
With being a bit away, I recommend hiring a slopeside locker, at the top of the gondola. It will be about €50 for the week (don't have current cost, this was 2008) and just big enough at a squeeze. Some of the tour companies try to sell space in their lockers.. forget that and buy one of the slopeside lockers. When you get off the gondola at the top, its around the corner to the left of the building in front of you. Anyone will point you to it.
I'm sure you will have a ball. Very friendly resort. Ski school is great. Uniformly good instruction and a great laugh.
Hope this helps. .. John
