Arrrive in on a sunday afternoon, want to organise lift passes and ski equipment then, rather than the monday. What is the easiest way to do this please?
Re:Club Daina apartments in arinsol 1 Year, 5 Months ago
If you arrive early enough, say before 4pm then you will be able to obtain lift passes at the Gondola bottom station.
You can hire equipment at several shops, there are 3 outlets at the gondola top station and various within the village. If you arrive early enough to get your lift passes and ride up the gondola you can go to one of the ski station shops to hire. - It can be useful to hire from ski station shops because if there is a problem with the equipment then it is more convenient to get to these shops rather than ride down the gondola to a hire shop.
Shops in the village will be open until around 8pm usually, so you are still able to hire equipment on Sunday evening even if you missed the gondola.

Thanks. We are getting the passes from the rep, i think. Booked with Ski Direct. If we see him before 4, we will defo go up in the gondella and get the skis and boots and locker. thanks for the advice.

Okay, well if you're getting lift passes from a tour operator, then you will get them at their welcome meeting - which will almost certainly be after the gondola has closed.

Okay, thanks, It looks like we will be joining the masses on the Monday morning. We could get up early. Could you tell me what time does the gondella opens, please.

Assuming no change from last season, the Gondola will open at 8.30am (weather permitting of course!).
You haven't mentioned if you have ski school booked.
If you are in ski school group lessons there are two start times for Mondays - depending on the tour operator. I can't remember which time Direct Ski have. It will be either 10am or Midday - if you are a 10am start then getting up the gondola early is highly recommended. If you have a midday start then frankly it's best to go up later, say around 10am otherwise the hire shops will be full of people needing to be ready for 10am.

Last year Direct ski had ski school classes in the mornings, i.e. a 10am start on Monday - I imagine it will be the same this year. I believe that if you book your ski hire through Direct Ski, and are staying in the bottom half of the village (which you are) then you collect your equipment from a shop in the village - probably Sant Moritz - rather than up the mountain, so you can do that Sunday afternoon/evening when you arrive.
