Hi Becki,
The intermediate classes here go to a level that many people might call advanced, the reason being that we like to get all the skiers (i.e. everyone above beginner level) together and assess their level. I find that terms like intermediate and advanced are quite confusing as there is no clear definition of when you progress from one to the other. At the start of the week we will watch everybody ski and split you into 3 levels. Roughly speaking, 1 is snowplough, 2 is parallel and 3 is advanced parallel.
If I teach a level 3 group a typical week could include short radius turns (controlled for the steeps or fast and dynamic on reds), carving (basics up to high performance), steep reds and blacks, some (or lots of) off piste, an introduction to bumps/moguls, tree skiing, possibly a bit of race technique, maybe some jumps and tricks and anything else the group ask for. I can't say exactly what other instructors do with a group of high level intermediates but I imagine it is pretty similar. Obviously the level of the group will depend a little on exactly who turns up on a Monday morning, but on all but the very quietest weeks of the season there is at least one level 3 group and often more.
I hope this helps - I think you would have a good time and learn plenty in an intermediate class here.
