We are returning to Arinsal as a family on 20th Jan after skiing there last year (1st time skiing for all of us last year). Kids (age 13 and 9) had a ball, both skiing well by end of week, so no problems with them. Hubby got the hang of the basics by the end of the week so he's happy enough to return.
Problem is me - I was hopeless (I mean hopeless!) at the skiing last year! Only got to day 3 before I had to give up as one of my boots had been too tight and big toe swelled up so much that despite changing boots could not stick the weight of boot and ski against it (lost toenail in the end). Still hadn't managed to get even basic turns by that point. Took a couple of big tosses as well which knocked confidence a bit. I am reticient about going back, but would like to give it another go as rest of family enjoyed it so much. Question is, should I join a beginners class or a dry slopers? I would be happy enough to go over basics again, and thought this might build up my confidence a bit. Any advice to a nervous 42 year old returner would be much appreciated.
