The official language of Andorra is Catalan, which is also spoken throughout
Catalonia, parts of France and the Balearic islands. There are around ten
million Catalan speakers in total. However most of the people working in the
Arinsal ski area and in the shops, bars and restaurants, are either English
or Spanish speakers. Having
said that, whilst knowing Spanish will be more useful, the Andorrans will appreciate it if you use a few words of Catalan. Below we give a few phrases in both languages to get you started, along with some approximate pronunciation.
