Accommodation Roundup

Poblado ApptHotel 01 When looking at lists of hotels in brochures, or on websites like this one, it can be difficult to get a feel for what is actually out there. With this in mind, here is an overview of the accommodation to be found in and around Arinsal. Click here for a map showing all the hotels.

If you want a big hotel with lots of facilities, the two options are the Princessa Park and the St. Gothard. Both have a range of bars along with sports and leisure facilities, wellness suites and so on. Of these, the Princessa is centrally located close to the Gondola while the St. Gothard is a few hundred metres downhill at the bottom end of the village. Slightly smaller, but still big hotels, are the Patagonia and the Crest, located at the top end of the village next to the chairlift but a bit further from the nightlife. A cheaper option for a big hotel is the Hotel Solana which is about five minutes walk from the Gondola and has an indoor swimming pool.

If you prefer a smaller hotel, there are several options. For a traditional Andorran hotel with good local cuisine the Hotel Micolau and Xalet Montane both have good reputations. The Hotel Palarine down in Erts is one of the nicest hotels in the area (with a great oriental bar/restaurant), but it is a little out of town. The Xalet Verdu, San Andreu and Xalet Besoli are all similar sized hotels five to ten minutes walk from the gondola and village centre. At the cheaper end of the market are the Hotel Arinsal and Hotel Ayma, whilst the Poblado approaches hostel prices and has a good bar and restaurant.

Self catering wise you have a choice between purpose built holiday apartment buildings and apartments in residential buildings. For the former the St. Moritz and the Poblado Appartments (not to be confused with the Pobalado Hotel next door) are quite centrally located. There are also the Velvet appartments which are situated on their own at the far top end of the village – quiet with great views but a long walk to the pub. Hola Andorra Chalet and Appartment Rentals offer self catering apartments and chalets along with a catered chalet (relatively rare in Andorra) and their website is full of useful local information. There is also the Servissim estate agency which offers holiday rentals through their Andorra-Holidays brand.
